Dear All,
I am thrilled to announce that we are hosting a session at #AGU26, and I’m honored to serve as a convener for Session H124: Sensitivity and Uncertainty Characterization in Multi-Scale Modeling of Drought-to-Flood Transitions.
Rapid hydroclimatic "whiplash"—the abrupt transition between extreme drought and severe flooding—is a critical challenge for prediction and water resource management. If your research explores this cascading extreme, we want to hear from you!
🎯 We are looking for contributions involving:
·        Modeling Frameworks: Physics-based, data-driven, or hybrid (AI/ML/surrogate) models.
·        Hydrodynamic Approaches: 1D–2D simulations and coupled models across global, regional, or hyperlocal scales.
·        Statistical Methods: Index-based modeling (SPI, SPEI, SSMI, SRI, SSI).
·        Data & Observation: Large-scale operational datasets (GLOFAS, GFS), sensor-based data, or in-situ observations to enhance model evaluation.
·        Core Themes: Uncertainty quantification, parameter sensitivity, and process-based insights into drought-to-flood and flood-to-drought propagation.

📅 Important Dates & Deadlines:
·        5 August – Abstract submissions close 🚨
·        20 August – Abstracts scheduled in allocated sessions
·        Late-August – Attendee registration and housing opens
·        Early-September – Sessions scheduled and program schedule finalized
