This special issue warmly welcomes contributions from colleagues who presented in the NH1.3 session at EGU 2025, the Floodplain Management Australia (FMA) 2025 conference, and the SimHydro 2025 community.

The issue aims to unite policymakers, decision-makers, academicians (both early-career (YFM) and experienced), and practitioners to share and discuss cutting-edge developments in:

· Flood inundation modelling

· Hazard mapping

· Risk and vulnerability assessments

· Integrated flood risk management strategies
