New York University - postdoctoral position in statistical and/or computational hydrosciences

Dear colleagues, 

We at NYU's Hydrologic Systems Group are looking for motivated researchers who wish to pursue their postdoctoral work within the broad field of statistical and/or computational hydrosciences. We have just opened one position, beginning in 2024 (the start date is negotiable). 

The specific research plan for this position will be drafted after further discussions with the postdoctoral researcher. Preferred applicants will have prior research experience related to some of the following topics:

• • rainfall-runoff processes in natural or urban hydrologic systems
  • stochastic processes / stochastic differential equations  / probabilistic methods
  • risk-based decision-making / uncertainty analysis
    
  • water infrastructure design under uncertainty
    
  • nonlinear dynamical systems
  • physics-informed machine learning for hydrologic applications
  • hydroclimatic hazards
  • flood modeling 
  • hydrogeomorphic modeling
