Dear colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to consider submitting an abstract to our session at this AGU Fall Meeting:

A073- From S2S Prediction to Anticipatory Action: AI Methods and User-Centric Climate Informatics

Session details: https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu26/prelim.cgi/Session/279806

Session description: Climate services are shifting from supply-driven forecast dissemination toward demand-driven, user-centric information systems. Yet a persistent gap remains between the sophistication of subseasonal-to-seasonal (S2S) predictions and their actionable use by vulnerable communities around the world including South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. This session examines how artificial intelligence, digital climate intelligence platforms, and human-centred design are transforming the delivery and uptake of climate services across scales. We invite contributions addressing: (1) AI/ML-augmented forecasting methods for hydrometeorological hazards; (2) digital tools translating climate information into decision-relevant advisories for agriculture, water management, and disaster risk reduction; (3) frameworks integrating top-down climate science with bottom-up community knowledge; and (4) last-mile delivery mechanisms, including anticipatory action protocols, connecting forecasts to protective outcomes. Contributions spanning compound risks, equity dimensions, and polycentric governance are encouraged.

If your research aligns with these themes, we warmly invite you to submit an abstract and share this opportunity with your colleagues, collaborators, and students.

We look forward to receiving your submissions and welcoming you to an exciting scientific discussion at AGU 2026!

Please note that the abstract submission deadline is Wednesday, 05 August 2026 at 23:59 EDT/03:59 UTC.
