Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to submit an abstract to session HS6.3 “Remote Sensing of Evapotranspiration” at the EGU 26 General Assembly (Vienna & online, 3–8 May 2026).
Session Overview: This session will showcase recent methodological advancements in the use of remote‐sensing (RS) to improve evapotranspiration (ET) quantification across various climates and environments — from agricultural landscapes and riparian zones to urban and forest ecosystems. Here info session: https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU26/session/56038. The abstract submission deadline is Thursday, 15 January 2026, 13:00 CET.
We explicitly welcome contributions that:
Explore recent developments in RS‐based ET estimation.
Apply AI, cloud computing, novel sensors, or hybrid modelling approaches.
Fuse RS data with modelling or ground‐based methods.
Tackle challenges of validation, calibration, upscaling, and forecasting of ET.
Outline future directions in RS of ET.
We look forward to reading your
contributions and welcoming you in Vienna (or online) at EGU 26.
Kind regards,
Hamideh Nouri, Neda Abbasi, Ana Andreu, Mariapina Castelli, Pamela
Nagler
