Dear Colleagues,
we would like to invite you to contribute to our session at the EGU General Assembly 2026:
Groundwater residence times and flow paths: New (Multi-)Tracer and Modelling Approaches Across Scales (Session ID: 56921)
Understanding groundwater residence times and flow paths is essential for unraveling the hydrological and biogeochemical functioning of aquifers. These insights are critical for addressing challenges such as subsurface heterogeneities, groundwater–surface water interactions, pollution vulnerability, and sustainable groundwater management under changing climatic conditions.
Our session aims to bring together innovative research and applied resource management perspectives. We particularly welcome contributions that:
We aim to showcase a broad range of studies, from practical applications to cutting-edge methodological developments, highlighting their relevance for groundwater-dependent ecosystems and sustainable resource use.
📅 Abstract submission deadline: 15 January 2026
Please feel free to share this invitation with colleagues who might be interested.
We look forward to your contributions!
Best regards,
Andreas Hartmann, Uwe Morgenstern, Daren Gooddy, Nadine Goeppert, Astrid Harjung
