We look forward to your submissions to our 8th Annual AGU Water Quality Technical Committee-sponsored session on "Water and Watersheds: From Scientific Innovations to Actions (H150)": https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu26/meetingapp.cgi/Session/279518

Invited Speakers:
Dr. Shuyu Chang, University of Connecticut
Dr. Robert Sabo, US Environmental Protection Agency

Abstracts are due August 5th, 2026

Session description
Hydrologists, biogeochemists, ecologists, and watershed scientists continue to advance hydrologic and water quality science using innovative measurement and modeling approaches. However, a persistent challenge lies in translating these methods and results into actionable insights for real-world water quality and watershed management. For example, advances in sensors and remote sensing technologies generate environmental data at unprecedented temporal resolutions and spatial extents. These data create new opportunities, not only for scientific discovery but also for real-world applications. In this session, we encourage presentations on research that moves beyond methodological innovations toward practical applications. We invite contributions that demonstrate how advances in measurements, modeling, and data analytics are used to inform management strategies, adaptive monitoring, and decision making, including improved understanding of water quality trends and their drivers. We encourage studies with transferable insights to advance watershed restoration and surface and groundwater water quality management, including multi-site comparisons, cross-scale analyses, and synthesis efforts.
