Invitation: launch of the RISE humanitarian geospatial web application

Hi all,

For those interesting in flooding, I would like to invite you to the launch event of RISE: acronym of Remote Imaging Support for Emergencies, RISE is a user-friendly web application that helps Disaster and Crisis Responders get instant clarity during natural hazards, so they can act 85% faster to help more people, without the dangerous delays and of traditional methods and 90% less costs, according to a recent assessment performed by the Red Cross in a test case in Madagascar.

RISE leverages the WASDI platform in the backend, and its development was funded by the WFP through their Humanitarian Innovation Accelerator Program (HIAP).

We organized a 2-hour event:

• Welcome from Lucien Hoffmann, Science Director of LIST
• Intro presentation from UNDRR and WFP
• Showcase a live demo of RISE in action
• Presentations from RedCross, LIST and NOAA
• Panel discussion moderated by CIMA Foundation with all the speakers and who wants to join
• In person networking informal session for those who are physically there 😊
