The Flood Control Division of the Contra Costa County Public Works Department seeks a highly motivated Senior Hydrographer to join our Hydrology unit to advance the county’s hydrology measurement systems, data quality, and standards in a leading Bay Area agency. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic team member with approximately 5 years of work experience, a passion for collecting and preserving accurate hydrologic data, enjoys working outdoors, and has the desire to learn and grow.
 
The Flood Control District performs the work of the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, a leading flood agency in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. As a Senior Hydrographer, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of an automated internet and radio connected network of data collection stations used for the collection of rain, stream and other data. You will take charge of an advanced cloud based database system to ensure the data is accurate and complete and use that data to confirm or adjust the Flood Control District hydrology standards. You will be trained to assist in the creation and review of hydrologic models used in the design and analysis of flood control and water quality infrastructure.
