A PhD grant fully funded by the 2022-2027 Department of Excellence program of the Italian Ministry of University and Research is available at the Department of Civil Environmental and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Trento. The grant is in the following research area: Hybrid Machine Learning and Process-based modeling in environmental applications
(Scholarship A2 in the list of topics; proposed by Alberto Bellin:
We are looking for motivated candidates interested in developing innovative modeling, combining data-driven and physically based approaches, for water resources protection and management.
The interested candidate may choose between the following three sub-topics:
- Modeling the impact of water uses and climate change on water resources;
- Risk analysis and impact on human health of environmental contamination;
- Modeling the interplay between renewable energies and their effect on the timing of hydropower production and streamflow alterations;
