Dear all,
We are pleased to announce our upcoming online course: Applied Stable Isotope Ecology with R – From Data to Decisions
Dates: 18–21 May
Course website: https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/stable-isotope-ecology/
This course offers a comprehensive introduction to stable isotope ecology, integrating theoretical foundations with practical data analysis using R. Participants will learn how to interpret real-world isotope datasets and apply reproducible analytical workflows to answer ecological, fisheries, and environmental questions.
Throughout the course, we will cover the core principles of stable isotope variation in ecological systems and demonstrate how to estimate trophic position, diet, isotopic niches, and movement. Hands-on tutorials in R using tools such as SIMMR, CoSIMMR, MixSIAR, tRophicPosition, and SIBER will ensure participants can confidently apply these methods. Emphasis is placed on transparency, reproducibility, and ecological interpretation, so that analyses are both robust and meaningful.
No prior experience with stable isotopes is required, though basic familiarity with R is helpful.
Best regards,
Carlo
