Dear colleagues,

We would like to invite you to consider submitting abstracts to Session
H074. Geothermal Energy: Advancements, Challenges, and Future Prospects at this December's AGU Fall Meeting (https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu24/prelim.cgi/Session/224747).

Session Description:
Geothermal energy has emerged as a promising and clean low-carbon renewable baseload energy source that provides sustainable solutions to the energy crisis. Geothermal energy resources are diverse ranging from heating and cooling to production of electricity. To understand and ultimately develop these resources, multi-disciplinary research is required on topics that include, but are not limited to, underground thermal energy storage, hydrothermal systems, deep hot sedimentary basins, enhanced geothermal systems (i.e., systems requiring the creation and maintenance of permeability), and super-critical systems (e.g., near magmatic heat sources). In addition to fundamental research into characterization of or prospecting for resources, geoscientists can make fundamental contributions to the understanding of the consequences or geothermal resource development. Submissions are encouraged on all topics related to geothermal energy, with special preference given for multi-disciplinary research and new approaches.

Abstract Deadline: 31 July 2024 23:59 EDT/03:59 +1 GMT

On behalf of conveners: Dr. Renjie Zhou; Dr. Kewei Chen; Dr. Hongbin Zhan; Dr. Erick R Burns
