We invite abstracts to Session HS10.10, Bridging hydrological, biogeochemical and ecological processes in river basins and networks, which provides an interdisciplinary forum for advancing our understanding of hydrological and ecohydrological processes across river basins and networks. (Session page: https://www.egu26.eu/session/56148)
The session was first introduced at EGU 2025 and received strong interest from the community, with diverse submissions and active discussion. Building on this momentum, HS10.10 has been re-organized and sharpened for EGU 2026, refining its scientific focus while preserving its integrative scope.
Session themes include (but are not limited to):
Hydrological and ecohydrological processes in river networks and catchments
Network structure, scaling, and emergent behavior
Human–water–ecosystem interactions and anthropogenic controls
Cross-scale synthesis using theory, observations, and models
Convening team:
Soohyun Yang – Seoul National University, South Korea
Stefano Basso – Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway
Enrico Bertuzzo – University of Venice Ca Foscari, Italy
Doerthe Tetzlaff – Humboldt University of Berlin & IGB Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries, Germany
Giulia Grandi – Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Swiss
We particularly encourage contributions from researchers working at the interface of hydrology, ecology, and river-network science, as well as early-career scientists seeking an engaged and focused discussion space.
We look forward to welcoming a broad and interdisciplinary community to HS10.10 at EGU 2026.
Best regards,
