Dear AboutHydrology colleagues,
I hope you are doing well.
We would like to share a call for abstracts for our AGU26 session:
H107: Next-Generation Vadose Zone Modeling: Bridging Heterogeneity, Coupled Processes, and Scale
This session focuses on advancing vadose zone modeling beyond isolated process representation toward integrated, transferable, and efficient predictive frameworks. We welcome contributions on preferential flow, complex subsurface heterogeneity, coupled hydrologic and biogeochemical processes, model–data integration, multiscale modeling, and emerging computational approaches.
The session will feature invited presentations from Prof. Alexandre M. Tartakovsky (The Grainger College of Engineering, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) and Prof. Ying Zhao (Ludong University), highlighting recent advances in vadose zone modeling and predictive approaches.
Abstract submission deadline: August 5, 2026
