Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to submit abstracts to the 2026 EGU General Assembly session, HS2.4.8: Latest technologies in modelling hydrological extremes and concurrent/compound events (Hydrological Sciences section):
This session focuses on the latest development of modeling techniques in characterizing and predicting extreme events and their concurrent/compound occurrences at global, regional, and urban scales.
We welcome research contributions
focusing, but not limited to, the following areas:
(1) analysis of changes
in the severity, duration, intensity, frequency, and spatial extent of extremes
including concurrent/compound events under changing climate conditions;
(2)
exploration of latest methodologies for characterizing and predicting extreme
events, including the application of machine learning techniques;
(3)
understanding the climate drivers impacting extreme events and their spatial/temporal evolution;
(4) characterizing risk, vulnerability, exposure,
and adaptive capacity; and
(5) quantifying uncertainties in extreme events. Conveners:
Dr. Chandra Rajulapati, University of Manitoba;
Dr. Bihu Suchetana, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee;
Dr. Arpita Mondal, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay;
Dr. Giuseppe Formetta, University of Trento
We look forward to your contribution to our EGU26 session.
Please note that the abstract submission deadline is Thursday, January 15, 2026, 13:00 CET.
Students: Apply for financial support by submitting your abstract by December 01, 2025, 13:00 CET
Thank you.
