Postdoc Position in Forecast-Informed Reservoir Operations

The Water and Environmental Systems Analysis Lab (WESA) at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi is seeking a postdoc to work on forecast-informed reservoir operations. Funded by the Department of the Interior, the research project aims to integrate hydrologic modeling, satellite remote sensing, and WebGIS into a decision support system for improving reservoir operations and water resources management in the Nueces River Basin in Texas. This position is supported for two years.

 

Required qualifications:

(1) PhD in civil engineering, environmental science, computer science, or a related field

(2) Research experience in hydrology, water resources, and geospatial analysis

(3) Excellent skills of scientific writing and communications

 

Preferred qualifications (any of the following items):

(1) Experience with HEC-HMS, SWAT, or other watershed hydrologic models

(2) Experience with geospatial analytics via Google Earth Engine, Planet, or other platforms

(3) Experience with ArcGIS Online or other web-based mapping software

(4) Experience with NOAA precipitation forecast products
