Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 18th Annual InterPore Meeting – InterPore2026, which will take place 19–22 May 2026 in Nantes, France. InterPore brings together researchers from around the world working on all aspects of porous media science, including energy, climate, hydrology, materials, biology, and more.
As part of the conference, we warmly encourage you to submit an abstract to the minisymposium:
Lead Organizer: Ran Holtzman – Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA)-CSIC, Spain

Fluid–fluid and fluid–solid interfaces drive numerous coupled physical, chemical, and biological processes that control multiphase flow in heterogeneous porous materials. Although interfacial mechanisms occur at microscopic scales, they influence macroscopic flow behavior and strongly impact applications in geosciences and engineering. These include industrial processes such as filtering, coating, curing, and separation, and large-scale challenges such as water and contaminant transport in soils and aquifers, subsurface energy operations, and carbon storage.
This minisymposium aims to bring together researchers across disciplines to discuss cutting-edge results and open challenges. Topics include, but are not limited to:
Fluid–fluid and fluid–solid reactions
Characterization of miscible and immiscible interfaces
Mass transfer across interfaces
Biological interfaces (biofilms, plant roots, etc.)
Interfacial effects on transport, deformation, and phase change
Share your latest research and join the discussion by submitting an abstract to MS06 at the link below:

We look forward to your contributions and hope to welcome you in Nantes, France, in May 2026.
Warm regards,
Karolin Weber
