Dear colleagues, water temperature enthusiasts, and riverine heatwave experts,

We (that is Lily Twining, Ryan Shipley, and Manuela Brunner) are organizing a 3-day workshop on ‘Riverine heatwaves: hazard, ecological impacts, and modeling’  from Sunday 14.02.2027 to Wednesday 17.02.2027 at the conference center on Monte Verità, Switzerland (https://www.monteverita.org/en/conferences-meetings/eth-zurich-congressi-stefano-franscini).

The primary objective of this workshop is to create a scientific community around the topic of riverine heatwaves by bringing together researchers from hydrology/hazards and ecological research. This interdisciplinary group will establish a common understanding of the challenges and opportunities related to studying riverine heatwaves and identify ways of linking modelling tools across disciplinary boundaries.

Please do get in touch with us (manuela...@env.ethz.ch) if you are interested in receiving more information and updates on the event.

Best regards on behalf of the co-organizers
Manuela Brunner
