Greetings!

As the holiday season is approaching, I've been tasked to come up with some winter craft programs for our older adults, specifically those in Senior/Assisted Living facilities. Since these facilities will have a range of older adults with varying abilities, we are looking into either doing an individual craft with easy-medium-advanced versions, or do one craft that can be done in a group setting and adapted based on the residents' abilities. While I am looking over various craft ideas, I'd love to hear from those who may have already done a similar crafting program to get advice/tips on what craft was done or how a craft was adapted to the abilities of those participating.

Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions!

Hello,

I am not sure but I am hoping that our soon coming craft for our Senior/Assisted living facilities will be able to be done for a variety of abilities. We are planning on making tumbling block ornaments. (See link below for the how to video). I have already pre painted the blocks and put the eye hooks in them and cut out the words for them to select from. Hope this helps or inspires you.

Hi Jennifer,

This past January, we created an adult reading program called 'Cuddly, Warm, and Cozy' which included stories, discussion questions, poems, and a craft.  This program was for our adult day centers (audiences range from young adults to seniors, of all abilities)...

For the craft, participants made washcloth puppies, which were a big hit.  I adapted the craft from the website (listed in the attachment), and the picture is of a puppy I made myself!

I hope this is helps,

Melanie
