Hello,

We are looking to hire a full-time Outreach Services Specialist at our library and I am wondering if anyone has interview questions they would be willing to share with us?

My favorite question to ask all candidates is "If you were a kitchen utensil, what would you be and why?" I ask this to see if they are able to answer unusual questions, how creative are they and it has also been a good indicator of whether or not we will mesh. I know what I would be and often the people who have been the most successful in our organization have been complimentary utensils to mine. Except for the person who said they were an avocado scooper. Her why was awesome and she was a great employee. I will also note that I use utensil to mean anything used in the kitchen to cook. So pots and pans, mixing bowls, the cookbook stand, etc. are all included.

I would have said spaghetti fork because you can also scratch your back with it. Was I a complimentary utensil?
