祝贺中文毕业班的同学们在周一的AP Chinese 高考中取得好成绩☺️ 
The 2019 ~2020  school year Aborn Chinese School will open enrollment.

Options for tuition:  
1) $650/ year  for 1st child, *$610 / year  for siblings 
2) $360 / semi-year  for 1st child, $330 / semi-year for siblings +  $30 registration 
3) $28 / lesson x _____   + _____ (book fee)  +  $30 registration 

 If you need a CD with text book, $8 extra per CD
 
Note: We are trying to keep the same Schedule as this semester as possible, but it may adjust a little bit :

     2) G2 on Friday 7:00~8:50P at AI, by Ms. Y
     3) G3 on Friday 7:00~8:50P at AI, by Ms. T

Dear High School Students,
If you pass the Chinese Midterm on Sunday and want to take AP Chinese exam on May 5, 2020 (http://professionals.collegeboard.com/testing/ap/about/dates) , 
please see Ms. Chen for your Winter Break  Chinese homework/reading material and register our AP Chinese class on Friday 12/20/2019 at 7:30~8:30PM for 11 lessons in the Spring then take AP exam with College Board at your high schools on May 6, 2019.
Tuition $396; but if you are current in AI Chinese school, then $210 :)
We will prepare for practice books, CDs and material.  Students, please bring your "三常" books (if need to order with us , $15) and your PC notebooks/computers for our 1st AP class at 6:30~8:00PM on 01/17/2020 at Aborn location.
Note:
a) Please register AP Chinese exam thru your high schools and collegeboard in the end of Feb, 2019
b) If you will also take AP United States Government and Politics exam in the morning on May 6, you need to make sure that you get into the classroom on time for AP Chinese at noon.

教学大纲
Aborn School/ Institute是２００５年１月由中国学者在加州湾区创立、州政府注册的综合性学院。学院所设课程以中文为主，周末中文学校为学生奠定扎实的听、说、读、写中文基础，使学生系统地学习中文，为在中学能够顺利冲刺大学预修课AP Chinese作准备。
Aborn ASchool/ Institute中文学校采用以下教材：
一、 中国暨南大学华文学院新近发行的新版《幼儿汉语》、《中文》及《汉语拼音》教材。
《幼儿汉语》是《中文》系列教材的学前部分，课本共4册。该教材教学目的是通过系统的学习和训练，使少儿具有最基本的汉语听说能力；能正确书写汉字的基本笔画。为接受小学阶段的华文教育打下良好的基础。
新版《中文》小学版全套教材共计课本12册，练习册24册（分为A,B册）与《中文》中学版全套教材共计课本6册，练习册12册（分为A,B册）。该教材的教学对象是世界各国周末制华文学校的学生。教学性质介于第一语文与第二语文之间，突出了华语教学的教学特点。总体教学目标是使学生经过全套《中文》教材的学习与训练，具备汉语普通话听、说、读、写的基本能力，了解中华文化常识，为进一步学习中国语言文化打下良好的基础。
《汉语拼音》全套教材共计课本1册，练习册1册。该教材的教学目的是通过系统的汉语拼音学习，使学生牢固掌握汉语拼音，为以后的查字典和电脑中文写作做准备。
二、 中国商务印书馆出版的《汉英双解新华字典》。
三、 SAT II Chinese 及 AP Chinese 教材。
Aborn School周末中文班依据以上教材划分年级。各年级教学进度及教学重点请参阅下列安排。
No. 001 K 学前班：《幼儿汉语》。
学认中文单体字，学说汉语简单字，书写汉字的基本笔画, 着重唱读中文儿歌，培养学中文的兴趣。
No. 002 一年级：《中文》小学版第一册和《中文》小学版第二册第一、二单元。学写简单的中文笔划和字，着重中文单体字；学说汉语，着重听和说的练习。
No. 003 二年级：《中文》小学版第二册第三、四单元《中文》小学版第三册第一、二、三单元。复习巩固单体字，学习生字和组词，学会组词；加强中文听力训练，鼓励读讲汉语。
No. 004 三年级：《中文》小学版第三册第四单元及第四册和《汉语拼音》以及复习《中文》小学版第一册~第四册。开始学习查字典（部首及拼音）, 组词，简单造句。加强阅读和理解中文。用词组造句，练习朗读。系统学习汉语拼音。学习电脑中文输入。
No. 005 四年级：《中文》小学版第五册和《中文》小学版第六册。
复习巩固汉语拼音。阅读，增加词汇量。继续学习查字典（部首及拼音），并扎实掌握查字典技能。进一步学习电脑中文输入。
No. 006 五年级：《中文》小学版第七册和《中文》小学版第八册。讲读汉语，加强阅读，增加词汇量；深入学习查字典。学习电脑中文输入。翻译（繁译简及英译中）。
No. 007 六年级：《中文》小学版第九册和《中文》小学版第十册。
加强阅读，增加词汇量；开始学习中文写作，学习电脑中文输入和 看图写作。
No. 008 七年级：《中文》小学版第十一册和《中文》小学版第十二册。
加强阅读，增加词汇量；开始学习中文写作，学习电脑中文输入/写作, 学写记叙文。
    No. 009 八年级：《中文》中学版第一册和 第二册。
加强阅读，增加词汇量；继续学习中文写作，学写记叙文；学习电脑中文写作.
No. 010 九年级：《中文》中学版 第三册和 第四册。.
加强阅读，增加词汇量；继续学习中文写作，学写议论文，文章要有一定长度；演讲。
No. 011 十年级(毕业班) 和SAT II: 《中文》中学版 第五册和 第六册。 强化语言能力学习, 涉及小说、散文、诗歌、议论文等各种体裁. 加强学习中文写作演讲。
No. 012 *十年级 SAT II/ AP 中文加强班）：SAT II/AP Chinese.
加强中国文化知识和真实情境的听、说、读和写的综合练习以及模拟考训练。
*十年级毕业生： 为配合每年11月的SAT II 和五月的AP Chinese 考试，课程时间表将与前九个年级不同。
