If you currently have cable and want to cancel, or are looking to get Food Network for the first time - going for cord-cutting services can save you a lot of money and effort compared to traditional cable. The options vary in price and in value, but you'll be spoiled for choice. And if you pick something that ends up not meeting your expectations? No worries, many platforms offer a completely free trial so you can cancel without getting charged at all.

You can watch Food Network without cable on DirecTV Stream, Philo, Sling TV Orange, Sling TV Orange + Blue, Sling TV Blue, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV, DirecTV Stream Ultimate, Spectrum TV Choice, Now TV, Optimum Entertainment TV, Xfinity Choice TV, NOW TV and Peacock Premium Bundle, DirecTV Stream Choice, DirecTV Stream Premier, or Spectrum TV Stream.Below, we count down the best ways to watch Food Network that cord-cutters use. We made this ranking based on each service's value: how many other channels each dollar of subscription will get you.

Over 140 channels, unlimited DVR and RSNs included - DirecTV Stream Ultimate is one of the most complete cord-cutting streaming bundles out there. Think of every sports network for example, ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sports, NHL Network, etc, you name it, you got it. You also get over 55,000 (15,000 more than the base Entertainment package, mainly from Starz Encore) of on-demand movies and shows included. Of course, there is a price tag that comes with all of this that will rival the most expensive cable packages: over $100 a month.

Now TV is the new cable alternative from Comcast (owner of Xfinity). For $20/month, you get over 40 live channels, 20 hours of DVR, and watch on up to three devices. You also get Peacock Premium included. And of course, no minimum commitment and you can cancel anytime.

Optimum Entertainment TV is a live TV plan that offers about 80 live channels for $30/month. It's only available to those using Optimum Internet, which starts at $40/month, and an Optimum Stream device, which costs $5/month. Its lineup has yet to feature sports channels and local networks, though it does cover news for the New York tri-state area via its very own News 12 channel. Other notable channels include HGTV, Discovery, History, AMC, Nickelodeon, Hallmark, and Lifetime. For now, Optimum Entertainment TV is only available in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Arkansas, Arizona, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Texas. Unlike their cable service, there is no commitment so you can cancel anytime. The only catch is that you can't cancel online and have to get on the phone with Optimum to do so.

Choice TV with Xfinity Flex is for people looking to stay connected to big-name live networks, without getting bogged down by a slew of niche channels. Xfinity Choice TV customers keep things light with HD live TV and 20 hours of DVR storage, but still have the opportunity to add genre channel bundles for more variety.

The Now TV and Peacock Premium Bundle also comes with 20 hours of cloud DVR, and you can stream it on three concurrent screens. Apart from a subscription to Xfinity, there are no other strict requirements when claiming this offer.

There's a reason why DirecTV Stream Choice is the provider's most popular package to date: it carries over 105 channels, many of which are specialty sports channels like Big Ten Network, MLB Network, and NBA TV; it has local channels and RSNs where available; it offers premium add-ons like Starz and HBO; and maybe most important of all, it's still under a hundred bucks, which is not something you can say about most live TV packages these days.

In other words, Stream Choice is for those looking for extra sports coverage while wanting to enjoy the usual benefits of DirecTV, like unlimited screens and DVR, and keeping it all under a reasonable budget.

The most cable-like live TV package to date, DirecTV Stream Premier carries every possible channel you can think of. The sports department has ESPN and Fox Sports, to name a few, plus all the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB specialty channels. Meanwhile, the entertainment department has premium networks like HBO, Starz, Cinemax, and Showtime. It even has RSNs and local channels, all of which total more than 150 channels, so if you want your subscription to cover multiple bases, this is as comprehensive as it gets. All this comes to a hefty $160/month, which seems like a lot for a cord-cutting service, but with features like unlimited screens and DVR, it's worth considering if you have the budget to spare.

This newcomer to cord-cutting quietly launched in April 2024. It's about 90 channels for $39.99, without any additional fees like a local channels surcharge, because there are simply no local channels. What you won't find either are sports channels. And some of the channels are Spectrum channels like Spectrum Originals and Spectrum News.

While Netflix started off by capitalizing in the areas Food Network was lacking in, they eventually started coming at them in their own game. One thing that always kept viewers coming back to Food Network was its wide array of lovable, fan favorite chefs like Rachael Ray and the ever-relevant Guy Fieri. Netflix took this popular model and allowed the personalities to shape the program rather than find a formula and repeatedly produce it with a rotating assortment of hosts.

Yet there is no denying that the safe approach to culinary programming is dying, and its dwindling fan base is jumping ship to the more exciting world of streaming. In the past, people were watching these shows for the personalities, but the category is becoming more and more niche, and as Netflix increases its portrayal of food, audiences will be able to find exactly what they want, without the excess.

In recent years, the best food shows and food movies have migrated from traditional networks to on-demand services like Netflix, sparking a new wave of onscreen cookery and high-definition eye candy for your belly. So, what are some of the best food shows on Netflix? We have 10 must-see food shows on Netflix below.

Divided into 20 easy-to-digest episodes, Flavorful Origins is a documentary that invites viewers inside the ingredients, dishes and techniques of the coastal Chaoshan region in China. Each 12-minute episode revolves around a specific food, spanning dishes like marinated crab, hot pot, seaweed and hu tieu noodles. Every visual morsel starts with an introduction to the ingredient or dish, segueing then into portrayals of chefs stir-frying, steaming, grinding and plating. Unlike American-produced food shows on Netflix and mainstream TV, which often exalt individual chefs, Flavorful Origins is food, food, food.

No matter where your culinary interests lie, the food shows on Netflix are a great resource for fostering your love of the culinary craft. From Michelin-starred master dishes to humble home-cooked meals, these shows will have you glued to the tube and craving your next bite.

When I am thoroughly disappointed by my dorm room snack drawer (which happens regularly), I turn on the Food Network to satisfy my food craving. Watching Guy Fieri travel from city to city on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives is my personal guilty pleasure.

You wish you could join in on the competition and show the judges your plethora of skills. The overwhelming energy of the kitchen would amplify your ability to compete and help you trump your competitors.

When watching this show, it is almost impossible not to smile. There is something about a perfectly presented cupcake that gives you a sense of joy. Do you ever wonder how each baker mastered the impeccable icing swirl?

Streaming is a great way to consume content, especially cooking, baking and chef shows! On-demand videos, TV and music offer instant entertainment. However, the neverending options can leave users asking which is best for them.

As the number of options continues to increase, understanding which TV provider to use and which TV package to subscribe to is essential. For those looking for quality entertainment, there has never been a better time to switch to streaming services.
