Problemas de citação conseguí resolver com com o codigo abaixo

Troquei: %\usepackage[alf,abnt-etal-cite=3,abnt-etal-list=3,abnt-url-package=url,abnt-emphasize=bf]{abntex2cite}, por:

\usepackage[abnt-nbr10520=1988,alf,abnt-etal-cite=3,abnt-etal-list=3,abnt-url-package=url,abnt-emphasize=bf]{abntex2cite}

este funciona bem, porém em citação de mais de um autor ele considera o and como &, no Overleaf, então usa este Pacote aqui que funciona
