I just realised i have had no emails from the group since I changed my
email address. I can't remember if I notified the group or not, it was a
while back.
Sent to Emma too, just in case,
Julie Wall.

Aha, I forgot the emails come to the sender as well, it seems i do still
have a connection :)
That being the case, I can say hi all, hope everyone is well and such.
A forum friend just asked if there was an active permaculture group who
meet up regularly. I passed on the group email so he and his wife can
join, but Gordon and I also wondered if anyone would be interested in
having some sort of regular meet up? If that is too much travelling for
everyone then maybe smaller groups who are goegraphically closer could get
together? Whether in a local pub or at someones house, it might be fun.

Hi There,

Following on from Julie's suggestion, I would be very interested in a regular meet-up. We live in the Gamrie/Macduff area of Banffshire.

Hi Jake,
hope you are keeping well. We like the idea of getting together for mutual
aid etc, it does seem more constructive than just chatting about it, I
agree. I happen to know that Max needs some help with roofing because he
asked Gordon about it because he dreplaced ours. Is that the kind of thing
you had in mind? We started a timebank over on the Roundhouse but it does
seem to be difficult getting any number of people to be free for group
help for people all at the same time. Nevertheless, I feel these things
are worth working at because they benefit everyone.
You probably ought to meet James, the guy who was asking about the group,
as he is at Rhynie near you, and has made quite good progress on his plot
already. They have a facebook page - Tap o noth permaculture, if you are
interested.
There is a discussion going on on the forum just now in the timebank
section. Katie from Cairnie is also interested in getting involved in
projects, so we might have a small group forming already by the sound of
it.
By the way, we found a newspaper article about you amongst the pile I
liberated from the recycling bins at Huntly. It was from a few months
back, but we got quite excited when we realised it was about you :D We
probably ned to get out more, eh.
If you have any personal projects in mind let me know, we will join in and
help if we can.

Hi Collette,
Nice to meet you and thanks for joining the forum the other day too. If
you go to the timebank section you can join in the discussion there and
keep an eye out for any meetings. It's about time we had another meet up
as we haven't done anything since the seed swap in Spring.
The other idea currently in the planning stage is extending the timebank
idea to include swaping items for practical help or other items.
If Gordon and I host a meet up at our place one weekend would anyone be
interested in coming over to get the ball rolling and mention any projects
of their own they might need help with? I will make lunch for everyone of
course as usual.

Hi Everyone,

I am not really that close by. I live in Nairn. But close enough to the train station to be interested to join you.

In exchange for learning something from you, maybe I can share one of my favourite sessions?

Isn't this the birth of the first perma blitz in AB?? (Permablitzes are free events, open to the public, with free workshops, shared food, where you get some exercise and have a wonderful time.)

Much love
Ludwig

Hi Julie

I'd be happy to meet up one weekend to chat about your timebank idea. Just keep me posted about dates etc.

I'm free most weekends (well, not exactly 'free' as I have two small children but there are usually more people around at weekends to mind them).

Looking forward to hearing back about it.

Best wishes,

Collette

We would be interested in local meetups, and timebanking and/or other less formal helping-out.  We're a WWOOF host too now.

We stay 5 miles west of Turrif, 9 miles south of Banff

Hello perma friends,

Meet-ups sound grand. Been ages since i've made time for such things. Glad i'm still on this email list. Thanks for prodding this back into action Julie....i'll keep an eye on this thread, but not sure i'll find time to keep checking in on The Roundhouse just yet. xxx

Sending smiles to those who know me...and those i've yet to meet. :)

I could only get to Turriff area occasionally, but I love the idea of practical meet-ups, and will come when I can. It's quite timely for me, too, as beekeeping is slowing down (after an exhausting season of learning curves), so I'll feel freer to plan other things.
