SRU and Postdoc “UC Can’t Ghost Us” Rally on Oct 28th

Hi folks,

 SRU-UAW is rallying Thursday, Oct. 28 at noon across the state to demand UC respect the democratic decision of SRs and recognize our union.

I know that none of us are GSRs or SRUs, but this is just a very easy way to show support. If we can convince the UC that enough people support creating a union for GSRs and Postdocs then we won't have to resort to more extreme measures of protest.

SRU recently launched a Statewide Resolution on UC’s Delay and Deny Tactics, asking Student Researchers whether we remain steadfast in our commitment to include fellows and trainees as well as GSRs in our union. SRs have overwhelmingly voted Yes! on the resolution, demanding that UC recognize SRU, the union of all Student Researchers, including fellows and trainees, immediately.

Next, thousands of researchers across the state will be coming together in person on Thursday, October 28 at 12pm for rallies on each UC campus. We will also be joined by Postdocs in 5810, who have been fighting UC’s attempts to weaken their rights by denying a fair contract.

A strong turnout at the rally will be important to show that we stand united. Can you bring your labmates and co-workers to the Rally?
