Update: As April Fool's Day comes to an end, we would like to update our earlier news. We were thrilled to see that some of our readers were excited about the possibility of this initiative. We received different reactions, with one person saying: "Beautiful, this is a great start and I hope our relationship will continue to grow with friendly intentions." Another commenter remarked: "Great, but it would be even better if hiking between the mountains of the two countries became practical." Of course, some of you knew that it was just an April Fool's Day joke.
While building a bridge between the two countries would be an incredible feat of engineering, it is unfortunately not a reality at this time.
We hope you all had a good laugh and can appreciate the spirit of April Fool's Day.
