Is location in file/string saved when parsing?

I have maybe an unusual request: Is it possible, having parsed some lilypond code using the abjad parser, to take one of the objects that was parsed (say, a `Note`) and find the spot that it originated from in the original string? As in: this note came from line 12, characters 13-15.
