I've successfully copied the files from these folders to a thumb drive and moved them to a new computer. Note that part of the registration information is the local computer name, so in order to work on a different machine (or a clean Windows install on the same machine) the computer name needs to stay the same. Just name the computer the same, copy the .slip files to the same location on the new machine, and then install Delphi/RAD Studio.

I had a similar problem when renaming my Windows 10 computer. Apparently the license is bound to the computer name. I had to re-register Delphi after renaming my computer but failed because of the limit of my license key.Solution was renaming back my computer and renaming C:\ProgramData\Embarcadero\.cgb_license.corrupted and C:\ProgramData\Embarcadero\.licenses\.cg_license.corrupted to files without the .corrupted as suffix. My licence slip file was C:\ProgramData\Embarcadero\.2016_2.#############.slip.

I got some advice that I should have had the *.slip files backed up as well and ready for restoration, they are stored in the hidden %ProgramData% folder. I've done that for the laptop now, I suppose that will get blocked as part of a future update.

Download and install telerik fiddler classic, set it up so it (and you) can watch all the https traffic. (tools/options/https)
And see what is getting sent out, and coming back when you fire up delphi.

After a bit more digging around on the internets, I found a reference to the location of some other .slip files, in ProgramData\Embarcadero (I can only think that the one in the License folder of the installation itself is just there for decoration?)

Oh well, at least what should have taken 30 seconds or a couple of minutes, at most, only took the best part of TWO HOURS! (Now that I know about those additional .slip files, it will be much quicker next time of course, as it will be for you, dear reader ? ).

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Earth Educators' Rendezvous (EER), and time for us to reflect on what we've learned over the past ten years about running a conference and the evolving needs of the geoscience education community. Based on what we've learned, NAGT is adapting our approach. Starting in 2024, the EER will move to an every-other-year schedule. We will host the 2024 EER in Philadelphia as planned, and then the next EER will be in 2026 and every other year thereafter. The extended timeline gives us the opportunity to host a high-quality meeting that also makes best use of the financial resources, dedicated staff, and generous volunteers that make the meeting run. In addition, we are excited to move to this model in which we have more time to coordinate and develop synergies between EER and all of NAGT's other professional development programming. We look forward to seeing your ideas and proposals for the 2024 Earth Educators' Rendezvous in Philadelphia, and we'll let you know more about EER 2026 soon!
