IfI want to take all the fuss and guesswork out of breakfast for the week, egg muffins are my early morning go-to. My favorite way to prepare egg muffins is to chop up any misfit vegetables or proteins lying around in my fridge, and for this batch I utilized leftover smoked turkey. These little cuties heat up in the microwave in just 45 seconds and are great on their own, broken up onto salads, or served with corn tortillas and salsa.

In a mixing bowl, crack in the 10 eggs. To the eggs add in the Dijon mustard, sour cream, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Thoroughly whisk the eggs until all the ingredients are incorporated. Carefully pour the egg mixture in each muffin cup, stopping just short of the rim of the cup.

Many factors combined to make this a very challenging air clean-up application: smoke particles and aerosols are submicron; these and other airborne pollutants generated during fire testing are not very soluble in water, and even less so at the elevated temperature of the combustion test room exhaust; and the high-profile, political nature of the installation obligated the design to over-perform, lest it not hold up to the hypercritical eye of the concerned public. Because the submicron smoke particles are so tiny, they lack inertia and therefore cannot be collected at high efficiency by conventional methods of inertial impaction. Conversely, filtration, which can separate submicron particles from an airstream, would result in rapid clogging of filters due to high loads and oily nature of the smoke.

Late in 2011, an AAT, Inc. multi-stage Orion smoke particulate scrubber was installed due to its unique engineering considerations and design features. The multiple stages consisted of a direct contact spray cooler, wet venturi air scrubber, and HEPA filtration unit. The use of a bank of HEPA filters provided assurance of a clear stack but also required effective pre-scrubbing in the upstream venturi. Otherwise, filter replacement would be a serious drawback, both in terms of maintenance and operating costs. Along the same lines, because the air exiting the wet venturi air scrubber has 100% Relative Humidity, water would condense in the HEPAs, saturating and ruining them prematurely. To prevent this, a small volume rate of room air is heated in an electric heater and blended with the Orion wet scrubber exhaust air prior to entering the HEPAs.

Everything tarnishes except for gold, titanium, and stainless steel. All plated materials have just as much likeliness as raw materials to tarnish, fade, or turn your skin green. Gold fill and sterling silver chain is suggested for all those wanting a chain that will not tarnish or turn their skin green. Sterling silver will tarnish, but much slower than plated goods.

Here are a few tips to keep your charms from tarnishing: no shower, pool, ocean and avoid contact with water. Lotions, perfumes, oils, contact with skin and a humid atmosphere can contribute to tarnishing as well. The best way to store your jewelry is inside a small plastic bag, it helps to keep outside atmosphere from tarnishing it. Also, never store your jewelry in the bathroom, this is a breeding ground for tarnishing.

For California residents, you must provide your seller's permit provided by the California State Board of Equalization prior to receiving tax exemption. We will refund any tax charges after the purchase is made.

PLATED & BASE METAL: All plated and brass tarnish. Sometimes quick, sometimes not for a long time. We suggest to not get your products wet, or store in humid areas. Keep your components away from lotions, fragrances, soap, and any other items that may quicken the tarnishing.

TARNISHING: Some goods you receive may already be tarnished upon arrival. These goods are sold AS IS and will not be refunded or replaced due to tarnishing or scratches on the surface.

MANUFACTURED PLATING PROCESS: All of our new stock, manufactured brass, pewter and zinc components are electroplated on top of the metal. The plating can chip or break off upon engraving or drilling holes into the plated charms.

RAW BRASS: There is potential for variation of hue from the previous batches. In general our raw brass components arrive in a yellow brass, but on occasion, these items can arrive in a red, green, or orange tone. We have no control of this, and neither does our manufacture. If the components we custom manufacture do not come in the raw brass hue you were expecting, there is no refunds or exchanges.

In the last post, I talked about some of the helpful herbs you can use for smoke cleansing. This is the third and final part of a series that began in 2014. Or rather, I wrote the first post in 2014, then was inspired to return to it, revise it, and add to it.

We have the healer collecting the herbs and dipping them into holy water three times. In the Lacnunga, we see the number three usually associated with holiness. Alternatively, singing a prayer three times could also be a way of timing whatever the healer was doing.

The first step comes in collecting the herbs. Here is where I look to a combination of the Nine Herbs Charm and the vervain charm from Harland. In both charms, the herbs are addressed as sentient beings in and of themselves. This is despite the 700-800 year gap between the Lacnunga and the charm recorded by Harland mentioned above.

Hopefully, this series of posts has been both informative and helpful. What began as a revision of an old blog post that still does the rounds, grew into an examination of helpful herbs. We end here with a framework for preparing those helpful herbs for smoke cleansing.
