Barrels and lids are 20% recycled High Density Polypropylene, so there
is no guessing on what chemicals or other substances it contained.

Whoever gets one will be the original owner.  We use a part recycled
material because a fully recycled materials color pigment comes out
black.  Where we use a dark green color which actually discourages the
growth of algae according to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage
District.  Thin barrels or light colored barrels allow sunlight to
enter.  The removable lids open 2ft wide for easy cleaning and removal
of pollen, also makes good for sticking buckets in.  Lid can also be
secured to prevent children, pets, or wildlife from entering.  There
is a concave lid to a screened entry that blocks leaves, debris, and
insects, this design makes it easy to wipe away any debris.

The base is allmost 2ft. wide to allow for a sturdy base since a 60g
barrel full weighs up to 500lbs.  The fluted ribs add extra strentgh
to the barrel so they hold the water through the outdoor elements for
years to come.  Barrel is cyclindrical rather than flat so when put up
to a house, it will still allow sunlight and airflow to travel around
so moisture does not build up on the house.  They're two overflow
ports where standard garden hoses can be easily connected.  THE
REMOVAL OF WATER AWAY FROM THE HOME or to shrubs and beds is key so
they''re is no water buildup.  All fittings on barrel are standard
hose fittings, so if damaged can be easily replaced.  Other barrels
may use short clamped tubing or flexpipe for overflow.  All ports are
brass and molded into barrel with 1/2" thickness while other barrels
use only 1/8" and fittings are glued or chaulked into thin wall.  The
brass faucet is located 4" from the ground for maxium drainage from
barrel but the location is key because it doesn't allow dust and
pollen that has settled beneath the flow line to enter water harvest.
