That was a depressing 90 minutes. We could have played til Tuesday and still finished nil nil. Pawlett and Magennis our best attacking threats and both started on the bench. Why did we sign Chalali if we're still going to bring on Mackie with nine mins to go? I'm beginning to lose faith in Brown, but more worryingly, I'm beginning to regret wasting my time watching Aberdeen. I never though I'd say that.

It seems quite a few other fans have already came to the same conclusion over wasting their time - very low turnout for this fixture. I think both Hibbees and Dandies are very disillusioned with their teams.

I can't believe how far we've fallen in the last 3 seasons. Are we really as close to being a good team as Brown has been telling us? - having not been able to see any games this year, it's hard for me to judge.

It seems from match reports that Foster had a great game in midfield. Any merit in those reports or was his greatness simply relative to the players around him?

[sigh]

Foster was alright. I watched the BBC Alba coverage. He had a decent cut inside and shot that would have been a screamer if it had gone in the top corner. Overall it was just a dire game. It was like watching a training match. I watched Bolton v Man U the day before and I'm not sure they were playing the same sport. We badly need some imagination and cohesion in attack, or else not getting relegated will be the height of our aspiration this season.

Shall we just email each other and copy in Willie Miller? :)

the thing is, it's not just disallusionment  about afc; know we have no money, we know the board don't listen, we know that they are hell bent on getting out of pitoddorie and into a brand spanking new stadium and until that move is complete and paid for the team will not be funded properly.

However this year it has been clear that we are lied to as well: stellar signings, waiting for end of transfer window for loan players, brown being happy with the squad then brown desperate to sign a striker then being happy with the squad and now looking at a walsall reject, telling us chilalia is wonderful and how great he's been on trial - yet not giving him a start; pawlet is the new jess - and then on the bench…

and Why did we sign chris clark? Not that creative, not that defensive, not that great the last time [i don't remember people crying into their soup when he left] on a big[-ish for us] wage…

Mawame is this years iffel, and bus…

and last year we knew that we had a problem at full back - so did Brown when he came: he signed a left and right back on loan… and yet we back to being short there and considine was back there again…

When brown was manager of scotland he was very guilty of playing defensive dull football, and sticking with players  - or rather favourites - who everybody could see were well past it or off-form… and we are starting to go that way to

I've also heard it mentioned elsewhere that the plan for the stadium is to build it in organised sections: ala falkirk - so we can move in before its complete. So if crowds drop and there is no need for a large stadium we can put on hold building what we don't need. We could be playing in front of only one stand.

But its also all of scottish football: all teams are struggling for money, not making signings: just who form the other teams do you reckon is exciting or a worry to our team…

there you go - something to talk about: if there is anybody out there…

Well you have to say the least we expected were 2 full backs, 1 winger and a striker to be signed.

Now we have heaps of centre mids.

You can say we’ve tried all manager types but a basic should be to have someone who can play in each position.

Hmph.

But isn't it funny that both McGhee and Brown have done the same thing? It's like they're determined to sign players who CAN play multiple positions, but then play them in their weakest one.

I honestly wonder what's going on behind the scenes at Pittodrie. There must be more to all this than meets the eye. For example, how can we be desperate for a creative, attacking player and sign a guy nobody's heard of, who doesn't seem to even be able to get on the pitch now, when Leigh Griffiths goes to Hibs on loan.

I dunno. I despair.

Maybe Broon will pull McFadden out of the hat after all and we'll all be calling him a genius.

Was that a pig flying past?
