Hi everyone

The Aberdeen Buddhist Group is starting up again after its summer break. Starting in October, most of our programme for the next few months will be taken up with 'Buddhism from the Beginning', a systematic introduction to the main teachings of Buddhism, beginning  with a Saturday morning on An Introduction to Meditation on the 1st of October. We hope that this course will become something that we can repeat on a regular basis on a different evening, so we would love to have your views on how it goes and what might be improved. I've attached the programme for Buddhism from the Beginning and also a poster for the meditation day. If you could print off a copy and put it in your local library, supermarket, shop window or wherever, it would help a lot to make the event a success.

The September meetings will be

07 Sep - Welcome back, mindfulness of breathing and planning the course
14 Sep - The Kutadanta Sutta - the Buddha's teaching on sacrafice
21 Sep - Talk by Julian - subject to be confirmed
28 Sep - The Dharma Brothers - video about Vipassana teaching in a high-security prison in Alabama

See you soon

with metta

Alan
