I haven't managed to round up everyone to get the May-August programme together yet, but we are starting with a couple of evenings that shouldn't be missed. Wednesday the 18th is Wesak - the 2,600th, according to the Sri Lankan calendar, since the Buddha's enlightenment. I hope as many of you as possible can make it along to celebrate this milestone - we have also invited the Aberdeen Zen group along to join us. We'll have a group meditation, readings (no puja) and please bring along some food to share.
This Wednesday (the 11th), the talk is on a different annual event. Julian will be uncovering the hidden Buddhist theme at the heart of the Harold Ramis film Groundhog Day. Sounds silly? You'll be surprised at how well it works.
Still to be set a date for, we'll also have Khemaka on 'The Buddha's Journey to Enlightenment', a repeat of Lim's talk on the Three Jewels, meditation and readings chosen by Mhairi and, possibly, a visit from Amoghavira or Smritiratna from Dhanakosa.
much metta
Alan
