Greetings from the urban tundra,

Finally, three new releases to report about!
Other peoples' fantastic music is, as always, difficult to put into
words, but here goes...

ABOS2-007: The Big Drum in the Sky Religion "Hymn to the Beast With
Two Backs" CD-R
Beast-like in all senses, "Hymn..." consists of a single 75 minute
track: hypnotic, chaotic, sexed up scuzz, damaged transcendental
shoegaze-y Kraut rawk, free-punk... seemingly endless, definitely
amazing! Comes in an oversized sleeve (with imagery by C.K.) that'll
keep your Arklight (ABOS2-005) and Lee Noyes/Bruno Duplant (ABOS2-006)
CD-Rs company. Appropriately priced at €6.66.

ABOS2-031: Pregnant Spore / Dementia and Hope Trails / Inappropriate
King Live "The Three Braces of Naivité" 3x CD-R
No less than three discs worth of solo projects from Justin Marc Lloyd
(Rainbow Bridge Recordings chief)! Over 3½ hours of immersive,
sublimely intricate sonic mayhem, dark rumbles, ethereal fuzz,
manipulated field recordings, and aggressive electronics. Pregnant
Spore and Inappropriate King Live present two directions of noise/
glitch/creative sound manipulation, sometimes abrasive, sometimes
soothing, while Dementia and Hope Trails delivers an evolving,
shimmering, melodic / blissed out ambient guitar excursion lasting an
hour and sixteen minutes (if you've enjoyed DAHT's recent [mp3/CD-R]
releases on Pandafuzz and Twilight Luggage, you'll love this piece.)
Strictly limited to 16 copies.

ABOS2-038: Mold Omen "Mold Omen" CD-R
Seven intriguing musical sculptures from this debuting Baltimore duo -
free form dystopian motorcade melanges of ol' time radio, violin,
organ, and other noise toys, equally mysteriously moribund and
eccentrically vibrant. Like a vintage horror movie-on-tape (yeah, or
CD-R), recorded on ancient Polynesian burial grounds, then smoked -
resulting in new, otherworldly tone textures... tasty colours you can
feel. A personal favourite, this one! Comes in an envelope sleeve with
photography by Mr. Livingston, and gouache tinted art.

Despite there being little time to spare 'tween Xmas 'n' NYE, another
three shall be finished and officially issued in about 10 days from
now:

- Solquest's exquisite "The Blind Town"
- Anders Thode's rippin' "Apartment Rocking With Anders Thode"
- Satanism Around Hollywood's heavenly "Uncontrolled Winds" (members
of Dead Black Arms and Shiggajon)

...conveniently putting A Beard of Snails at 20 releases for 2010 (19
CD-Rs and a tape.)

A lot more tapes, and a lot fewer CD-Rs in 2011 (well, still got about
11 CD-Rs to do) - and vinyl, too (none this past year, for various
reasons... but a good number of people who I've been [more or less
secretly] wanting to put out on wax one way or another have already
gotten that taken care of elsewhere in 2010, so that's great!)

More about A B of S's 2011 in the next newsletter!

Jingle all (or some of) the way,
