Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that we will be doing the Development of management
thought question-November 2009 as listed below:

Question 1 (a) (b)

(a) Using a business organisation of your choice, compare and
contrast
the roles and functions of a first line supervisor with those of a
middle manager (16 marks)

Hint: Allocate discussion of the supervisor's role for 8 marks and
the
middle manager's role for 8 marks. Help in answering this question
may
be found in the introduction unit of your ABE manual.

(b) Explain why bureaucratic structure and a role culture might be
appropriate for middle managers in a large scale organisation (9
marks)

In addition, The Leadership questions from the most 3 most recent past
papers- June 2010; June 2009 and November 2009 must also be done.
These were posted for discussion.

NB: Remember that these are to be discusses during class and then
turned in so that I may help you better. If no one attempts any of the
questions, then we will be forced to do them in class.

Also, I have prepared a presentation on Motivation, Attitudes and Job
satisfaction which I hope to begin after our past paper session.
