We currently have openings in our practice to treat Spanish-speaking families in need of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) on a pro bono basis. These families can be seen on Saturdays, as well as during the week.  Please have interested families contact us in Spanish or English at pc...@kurtzpsychology.com or calling directly to Charlotte Quincoses (Administrative Coordinator of Special Projects) at 212.658.0110.

For those unfamiliar with PCIT,  Parent-Child Interaction Therapy is widely recognized as a gold-standard empirically-supported treatment for young children (2-7) with impairing disruptive behaviors. It is one of the few treatments now authorized under the Families First Prevention Services Act. PCIT consistently results in significant gains that last over time. Parents and children are seen together in a live-coaching “bug-in-ear” model, using a one-way mirror to support parents as the agents of change in helping their children learn to self-regulate.  It is one of the 2-phase treatments where parents first work on a relationship enhancement, attachment skills phase and then scaffold on the limit setting and discipline phase.

We are fortunate to have funding to treat a limited number of Spanish-speaking families and welcome inquiries from you or the families directly. Please note we are co-hosting with Montefiore Health System a Regional PCIT Conference April 3, 2020.
