The rumors are true...

Attention All Player - 

Some of you may have heard the rumor that I was moving away from Des Moines, and that information is true.  I have accepted a new position with my current company and it involves a move to North Carolina.

I wanted to take an opportunity to thank every player that became a customer, hockey player but most importantly a friend over the last 9 years.  The league would not have been successful for the last 5 years if we didn't have enough interest to play.  I helped create this league out of a necessity to play a sport I loved with people I wanted to be around.  All the captains currently running a team deserve a world of thanks for keeping their groups together and signing up for the league.

Although there were times where people may have not agreed with a decision, I really did whatever I thought would be best for the league.  Thanks to every player for making the league a success and for putting up with the good and the bad.

With that, many were concerned with the direction the league may take after I left or for that matter, whether or not there would even be a league.  I think we have a great thing going and wanted to make sure it continued in the right direction and not miss a beat.  I have spoken to Matt Johnson & Mike Beede over the last few weeks and they have agreed to take over the league for the remainder of this year and keep it going into the future.

They both met and discussed several items and asked many questions and the end result was that the main base of the league would not change.  Same schedule, primary rules, number of teams, payment terms, etc.  They are getting a group of people together to help them determine any beneficial changes that may occur.  I have informed Bucs Arena about my departure and they are ready to work with Mike & Matt under the same terms they gave me.

Mike & Matt would like to get a survey out to the league sooner than later, so be looking for that.  They also hope to continue the tradition of 3 on 3 Tourneys, so be looking for those as well.

I'll be travelling back and forth from NC to DM over the next 3 months until my family makes the move in late June.  I may be able to make another game or 2 , but not sure of my schedule yet.  Thanks again for everything and best of luck the rest of this season and future years as well.
