Good morning,
Below you will find the book selections for the month of December, February, and March.
Also, let's welcome Regina to our club :)
December 2012
Book: A Northern Light | Jennifer Donnelly
Sixteen-year-old Mattie Gokey
has big dreams but little hope of seeing them come true. Desperate for money,
she takes a job at the Glenmore, where hotel guest Grace Brown entrusts her
with the task of burning a secret bundle of letters. But when Grace's drowned
body is fished from the lake, Mattie discovers that the letters could reveal
the grim truth behind a murder.
Set in 1906 against the backdrop of the murder that inspired
Theodore Dreiser's An American Tragedy, Jennifer Donnelly's
astonishing debut novel effortlessly weaves romance, history, and a murder
mystery into something moving, and real, and wholly original.
To be read from December 1 to December 31st
Seeing as the holidays will make it almost impossible to meet up,
I propose that our first meet up should be Sunday, January 6 (2:00 PM)
over coffee/tea at a central location. We can probably go make-up shopping
post-book discussion.
Please let me know if this works for you.

Discussion points - This is not supposed to be like school.
These are just things to keep in mind while you're reading.
Feel free to ignore irrelevant questions & to bring forth
questions of your own.
What did you think of the book? (Like it? Dislike it? Why?)
What did you think the book was about?
Did you feel that the book fulfilled your expectations? Were you disappointed?
How realistic was the characterization? Would you want to meet any of the characters? Did you like them? Hate them?
Did the actions of the characters seem plausible? Why? Why not?
If one (or more) of the characters made a choice that had moral implications, would you have made the same decision? Why? Why not?
What are some of the book's themes? How important were they?
How are the book's images symbolically significant? Do the images help to develop the plot, or help to define characters?
Did the book end the way you expected?

Where do I get this book?
Download the epub.
Or buy the book (Amanda, can you pick out your book so I can order all the books)
Or check it out at your local TPL.

Hiya folks,
I’m looking at the following:
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
But since this was also a movie released in Sept (with Emma Watson), just checking that you have not read nor watched the movie yet.
