Okay, there was more money in my office: $480 in checks and cash. That brings the proceeds for this night to $8060. This is in addition to the money already raised which when I refigured is about $!,000 Andy table, $1,000 La Jolla/Torrey Pines Rotary, $ 400 - 600 individual tickets for seats, Chancellor $200 donation, Student Affairs Development $200, Asst Vice Chancellor Gary Ratcliff $100 (I think there were a few more). That totals an additional $3,100 that was already collected.
Total amount (the least amount with limited info) was $11, 160!!!!!!!!!!! Who has the rest of the info?
Suzy Valenzuela needs a spread sheet for the money that is being deposited through her. Prior deposits and new deposits because all the money goes into one fund and isn’t differentiated for each student organization.

Dear Co-chairs of the Inaugural Alternative Break Benefit Dinner,
Well, you made history last night with a fabulous, professional yet warm, heartful event that was well organized and very impressive to our VIPs. CONGRATULATIONS for a job well done! The only thing missing was appreciation expressed for the Benefit dinner committee. I received so many comments from VIPs on how blown away they were with the event. When they heard that all the planning and work happened in 7 weeks with a group that had never met before they were even more amazed. You have set a high standard for those that will follow in your footsteps.
You also achieved financial success – Besides the $10,000 in scholarship money, another $7,185 was received last night in credit card and check donations and $395 in cash = $7580!! This is in addition to what has already been deposited through Andrea and Suzy (business officer). I don’t have that total but I think it’s about $2,000. Does anyone know? Amazing for your first year! Almost all expenses (about $7,000 – food, invitations, programs, supplies for decorations, slide show, and video were donated except for parking and plates/linens/silverware (20% discount). Amazing.
There was also the campus “adopt-a-student fund raiser. Anyone know the total on that?
Co-chairs, have you decided on a stipend amount for transcenDANCE? They are a new organization and struggling to survive. They usually ask for a stipend of $200 for a short performance but any amount would excite them! If you can decide by phone today before Andrea deposits all the money that would be great.
We have learned so many lessons and made so many connections through this process. It will be much easier for those who follow in your footsteps and it will continue to grow each year. Pretty soon we’ll need the convention center for your dinners!!
