I am just trying to start development in Android. So, the problem is that when I try to launch an emulator by issuing the command emulator @A2, an emulator comes up on the screen. But even after waiting for as long as 2-3 hrs, all it shows is a black screen. Not even the Android home screen or the Android logo. Just a black screen. And while initially "adb devices" shows the emulator as offline.after 2-3 minutes the list of attached devices becomes blank.

I had issues with getting the larger devices to emulate (Nexus7 and 10), while the phone sized emulators worked great. Would just keep getting a black screen with nothing for hours with the tablets. What helped was actually the OPPOSITE of what most people here are recommending: after setting the tick box for 'Use Host GPU' and setting the target to the highest android (4.4.2 at the time of this writing) the 7 and 10 work as expected!

If you still see a black screen with a default device definition you've got problems elsewhere that are causing the device to fail. Digging through logs may be your only chance if that's the case. You can always try re-downloading the ADT and re-installing the SDKs if nothing else works.

I also had the same problem. I figured out that the HAXM hardware accelerator was recently updated but not reinstalled since the update manager just updates the installer package which get saved to your hard drive. You will need to remove HAXM and then run that installer package to complete the update. Usualy this gets installed into ANDROID-SDK-ROOT\android-sdk\extras\intel\Hardware_Accelerated_Execution_Manager. Where ANDROID-SDK-ROOT is the location where your android sdk is located.

I use Microsoft's lightning fast Android Emulators utilizing Hyper-V, and I had the same black screen for every Android emulator that I created no matter how I set the GPU Mode (auto, host, mesa, angle, swiftshader, off). Though my situation is apparently different form that of the OP, I thought it might be useful for those using Microsoft Android emulators and coming here after searching "android emulator black screen".

As of today (2019-02-01), Android emulators would have this black screen problem if you have a fresh install of Visual Studio 2017. VS shows notifications automatically for updates of NuGet packages, extension tools, etc., but NOT for Android tool updates. You have to check and update them manually.

I'm just new with Android Development, and running the default blank project. I have Android Studio 2.1.2.The problem is the emulator stuck with the black screen although HAXM works well:"HAX is working and emulator runs in fast virt mode"Most solutions suggest to uncheck "use host gpu" in AVD Manager, yet it seems this feature no longer appear in the new version of Android Studio.I run macOS El Capitan.

After an update to Android Studio this weekend (maybe Gradle?), the AVD emulator (Mac) suddenly started showing a black screen when I ran my installed app APK. Sometimes it showed a blue screen. Sometimes the emulator even showed a page of installed app icons. Sometimes upside down. Sometimes upside down and reversed! That smelled like a graphics problem.

I hope you are all doing well. I am facing a critical issue with my Fairphone after updating it to the latest Android 13 release on October 2nd. Unfortunately, I have encountered a persistent black screen problem during the boot process. I have tried several troubleshooting steps, but none of them have resolved the issue so far.

Opened a request as well, since my phone died with the update to A13 as well. Just seeing the splash screen and then black (but illuminated).
Was on original software with locked Bootloader. Ready to ship it to France I guess.

I have made a custom widget for myself. It's all white, but ever since I upgraded to android 12, it seems to randomly switch back and forth between black and white. It's just a simple widget that shows the time, date and the day of the week.

There have been a few questions similar to this but none seem to give a straight answer. If I am creating a Bitmap from a .png image and want to set a color (i.e. true pink) to transparent, the color turns black instead. I am using get and set pixel methods, iterating through an array of pixel colors.

As you can see, I am using the Color.argb() method to set the alpha to 0, but in reality, it just shows those parts as black on the screen. I recognize bitmaps don't take kindly to alpha channels (unless you configure it to ARGB_8888), but this has me stumped. It is also interesting to note that I do have SOME control of alpha via the Color.argb() method, it is just if it is too close to 0 it turns black anyway. Something in that method or whatever I am doing does not like full transparency apparently.

So i have the needed permissions and i sill have the black portion where the video should be shown, i have set the screencap on the CMS and also specific to another DSCS9 player one with version 6 and the other with version 7

Hello everyone, I just packaged a default level and launched it on Oculus Quest 2 and it show all black, nothing just happen. But I found a problem, the game can run normally if I clear the array of Package for Oculus Mobile devices but it will not display in full-screen, here is the screenshot:

Pls help me.

Anyone else run into this? Mine is still solid black in UE5.
Mobile HDR off
Vulkan off
Start in VR is on
Launch to Quest works fine in 4.27
DOES NOT work on ANY project (including VR template) in 5.01

I have restarted the Tablet that the Host is running on. I have also restarted all the devices that I've tried to connect with. I get a black screen on an IPAD, an Android phone and a Windows computer.

Once, the very first time I ran QuickSupport, I immediately ran Host afterwards. It worked, I had the screen display and could control everything remotely. It was a thing of beauty. But that only worked once. Everytime I have started Host since, I just get a black screen.

I was able to see the remote tablet screen 2 weeks ago from a Windows laptop. Yesterday I tried with a Mac: black screen. Tried on my phone (galaxy s10) and it worked once, however after changing a setting on the remote tablet (force landscape mode in Nova Launcher), I had to restart the remote tablet. After that, black screen whatever I try..

My issue is that if I start the connection when the device is in Landscape, its a black screen. If I start it (or switch to) portrait, I can get it to work.. when I switch to landscape on the tablet, it switches on the PC, but is simply the portrait displayed sideways, and nothing I do on the tablet actually displays on the PC - it's like it's a frozen screenshot

The issue is similar but not exactly. If I start Teamviewer connection in landscape I do get blackscreen. If I start Teamviewer connection in Portrait and once connected I switch to Landscape then the picture is fine but controls do not work as intended (very limited interaction possible, I think only swipping notification bar/settings down and swipping up app list).

I'm replying to say me too. I have the same problem in that if the tablet happens to be in Portrait position then the Host connection works, if it's in landscape then I get a black screen and mouse actions occur but not correctly.

I'm experiencing this with a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (2020) running Teamviewer Host 10.15.102-HM. The PC is running 10.15.5. I've also tried with a OnePlus 6 android phone running teamviewer 15.10.140 CL.

Figured out host record prompt on my Huawei Matepad T10 Tabled. It wasn't easy task but I finally got it working after hour of research. Now I can remotely connect from the Internet to my tablet which is located elsewhere (home for example) without confirming anything on target device. I don't like companies hiding stuff on personalized android ui.

I am sure about the colors as I snapped screenshots and used the color picker tool to get the exact RGB values. In any case, the facts that on iOS it appears as expected and that even on Android the text input color is still black and that the issue appears in labels point to the fact that this is a bug.

Hi All, Iam working with the app DHIS2 Capture for Android, where my role is to ensure that implementation runs smoothly. Due to our geographical dispersion, it is not always possible to give assistance in person.
I tried to use TeamViewer and AnyDesk to access the android phone in question, but unfortunately the screen goes black. I would like to know how I can overcome this behavior, any help is welcome. Thank you.

Hi @jaime.bosque, to update you, until then I tested the scalefusion, and managed to make all necessary settings, unfortunately the monitor goes black when I try to access DHIS Capture on their remote app. My question is, am I the only one who wants to have access to the application to help data managers (data enter) when they have any difficulties? How does the community normally do?

Could you try with the training App? Find the download link here: Release Android Capture App for DHIS 2 (v2.2.2) - Patch version dhis2/dhis2-android-capture-app GitHub If it works with this it will be due to the fact that for security reasons the screen overlay is not supported. We are evaluating this block to see if we could remove and still comply with the recommendations. Although for me it makes sense that this information is not visible via any other app.

I only started getting this problem after updating to 100 & 101. The preview runs perfectly, but after exporting for Android and loading it on my phone, the screen is almost completely black, save for a small rectangle in the bottom-left corner. The area that is blacked out can be successfully clicked, but the black area remains in the next scene as well.
