Position : Lead Developer needed
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 6 months
$40/hr Corp

Description
As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for providing high quality technology solutions that address Commercial Card business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. You will utilize mature (3rd or 4th generation) programming methodologies and languages. You will be expected to adhere to Commercial Card IT coding standards, procedures, and techniques. You will be expected to contribute to the technical code and design documentation. You will be expected to understand/apply reusable code design, leverage application architecture/framework capabilities and functionality, and design/develop solutions that are highly reliable, scalable, and perform to meet business-defined service levels.
You will be responsible for developing technical design documentation based on functional design specifications and implementing solutions using structured programming methods. Your design and implemented solutions must be reliable, scalable, and perform at a high-level to meet the service levels associated with mission-critical, web-based solutions that service large volumes of concurrent users. You will work within a team of developers (user-interface, middle tier business logic, data access) and application architects interfacing with business analysts, database developers, infrastructure architects, and quality assurance testers to ensure the successful delivery of an integrated solution meeting the needs of the Commercial Card business
You will manage the tasks assignments for a team of developers in addition to providing technical direction. Work will be executed per project plan and you will be responsible for status reporting. You will lead code reviews and mentor developers as needed. You will directly interface with multiple teams and represent development at project meetings.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience or specialized training) in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant software development work experience.
• Experience with object oriented analysis and design practices (object modeling, use cases, activity diagrams, UML).
• Experience using C#, VB, or VB.NET.
• Experience in at least two of the following:
• .NET framework
• .NET remoting
• Message queuing architecture (MQ, MSMQ)
• Web Service development and XML
• MS SQL Server/Transact SQL
• Stored procedure coding
• MS Report writing
• Data Modeling — relational database design, normalization, tuning
• High-volume eCommerce infrastructures
• Experience using version control system, e.g. Microsoft Visual Source Safe (VSS).
• Experience using a structured software development methodology in a large corporate or consulting environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment.
• Banking and/or financial services industry experience a plus.
