Can someone point me in the right direction on how to make a gene map file for both a uniprot human database and a tair database. The links to the software mentioned in the supplemental info PDF from the manuscript are no longer working

Cheers

Hi Brett

You can find the two java apps for gene mapping at the main Abacus
website at sourceforge:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/abacustpp/files/

The file you want is 'uniprotMapper.jar'

The command line to execute it is: java -jar uniprotMapper.jar

This will tell you how to use it.

tair is not a default organism the program downloads though.
But I might be able to get it for you. Do you know the TAXONID for it?

I'll give that a shot...Sorry Tair is a arabidopsis database. Most of the arabidopsis folks prefer it to uniprot even though uniprot contains cross-references to tair
