The film stars Deng Chao as Zhang Wuji, Ady An as Zhao Min, Liu Jing as Zhou Zhiruo, He Zhuoyan as Xiaozhao, and Zang Jinsheng as Xie Xun. It also features many famous actors from previous adaptations of Louis Cha's novels, such as Ken Chang as Zhang Cuishan, Wang Yuanke as Yin Susu, Yu Chenghui as Zhang Sanfeng, Chen Zhihui as Yin Tianzheng / Jueyuan, and Cecilia Liu as Yellow Dress Maiden. The film has 40 episodes, each lasting about 45 minutes.
