As regards Elbow test it may be cultural habit that the elbow skin thinner than hand skin and will be more
affected by hot water than the palm. It may be also, I do not know, if the nurse was gloved during bathing the
baby thin the elbow will be more sensitive.
For Example it was an old cultural way of testing the heating of iron during ironing the clothes in Upper Egypt.
The non professional house wife use the wet index finger from her saliva to test it but the professional ironer raise
the iron to be near, of course, not touching his cheek to feel, by irradiation, how much the iron is heated and ready for use.
Best regards.

ae...@worldonline.co.zaSubject: proposal for burn prevention to World Health Assembly
Date: Thu, 29 Apr 2010 13:46:02 -0400
Excellent news to report!
Our contacts in Bangladesh have managed to persuade the Bangladeshi Health Minister to approach the WHA Executive Board with consideration of the proposal (attached) for burn prevention and treatment.
My thanks to Tom Potokar for his help. Monira Rahman of the Acid Survivors Foundation in Bangladesh is working hard to move this forward.
If this step is successful, then we will need letters of support from many other countries. I will contact all of you with details about that in the future.
Keep your fingers and toes crossed, say a few prayers and light a few candles!
Liz, please forward this to the members of the ISBI Executive Committee.
Thanks!
Mike
