Akshar Bharati call for Voluteers: Pune Quiz and Bal Gokulum 2013

Dear ABians,

I hope everyone had a Great Diwali and a good change from your routine.

Akshar Bharati have geared up and as always enthusiastic and that has displayed very well in last years successful event, “AB Pune Quiz Competition” (2011-2012). Event was a Grand success with your Enthusiastic support, hardwork and volunteering made truly memorable.

Now AB has planned the same grand event “AB Pune Quiz competition 2012 - 2013”. Below are the details of the event…

What?

Pune Quiz Competition 2012 – 2013 and Bal Gokulum !

Why?

AB has setup more than 390 libraries, out of which 82 libraries are present in Pune city. Conducting Quiz competition provides us the opportunity to connect back to these libraries and assess the utilization of books provided, it also helps us to understand the improvement points for our next setups.

 When?

The mid-year exams are over, students are back from vacations and now they can spend time on extra curriculum activities. We are planning to start written tests (1^st round) from 1^st December 2012 and semi final and final on 20^th Jan 2013 including the cultural event (Bal Gokulum).

How?

·         Students from 5^th 6^th & 7^th Std will form Group A and 8^th & 9^th Std will form Group B

·         1^st round will be written test at School level. Toppers from each class will represent school for Intra school semi final

·         Semi final will be again written test but solved in teams (Group A and Group B)

·         Top 5 teams from each group will enter Finals

·         Final Quiz will have multiple rounds (audio visual) in front of big audience

·         “Bal Gokulum” the cultural event will be conducted during Finals on 20^th Jan 2012

 Who?

·         AB volunteers will conduct 1^st round of written test at 82 locations (AB Libraries at schools)

·         More than 10,000 students are expected to appear for 1^st round of written test

·         Close to 300 toppers will be present on 20^th Jan for Semi & Final Quiz and Bal Gokulum

·         On 20^th Jan 2013, volunteers will have to manage logistics, conduct exams, host events, arrange food, handle stage registration desk etc…

Considering the large number of students participating in this event and with Pre preparation activities, there is a need of more enthusiastic people to join the team. This is an appeal to all volunteers to sign in for this event in large numbers and lead it to success….
