If you are taking drugs that a doctor prescribed you and you start to like the way they make you feel, then that might be what it takes to set you off and running again. If I was told that smoking and drinking canceled out my sobriety, then I guess that I may not be sober, but I have a program that has kept me from drinking for over six years; call it what you want, I'm a coffee and cigarette addict that doesn't drink anymore.
Guilt and shame usually came with the aftermath of a bender, and I have never felt like that after having a couple of cups of coffee and a few cigarettes.
