This is mainly a "hello." I've been a visual observer for the AAVSO
since the mid-1980's (with a break through most of the 1990's) and
this seemed like a great opportunity for personal learning. I've been
reading through a lot of the posts and the two projects listed are
very interesting. However, I may be a "lurker" for a while. I don't
have much experience with photometry or CCD observing, and as far as
computer skills I have experience with the basics like spreadsheets,
databases, and documents, and can find my way around the internet
pretty well. If any group member is willing to point me toward
tutorials and/or answer a lot of basic questions I would be grateful!
How does one get started with the projects? Thanks in advance and good
observing to all of you whether it's at the eyepiece or on the
computer screen.
