Hello all,
Since I am new to the group and the area of data mining I wanted to
introduce myself and ask for guidance on where to start. I have
downloaded DATA MINING AND MACHINE LEARNING IN ASTRONOMY by NICHOLAS
M. BALL and plan to read it carefully. Any other suggestions as of
where to start would be greatly appreciated.

I have been a professor of physics and mathematics for the last 20
some years. Primarily I have taught at the sophomore and junior levels
of undergraduate classes. I have been an avid armature astronomer all
of my adult life. Currently I am looking for an area such as this that
I can get more involved in with astronomy.

Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.
