Data mining talks from the spring meeting

Doug Welch promised to post some of his data mining project ideas from
the meeting. There are some good ones! Lucas Macri, who was the
banquet speaker at the meeting, also indicated that images from their
work in the LMC will be available for mining in about 6 months. I
really wish I had more time because this is very much a Golden Age of
data mining!

Also, with the advent of photometrica.org, which is included with your
AAVSO membership, finding new variable stars in your images is now
pretty darn easy. Log into Blue&Gold to try it out.
