ATTN: German teachers -- Gymnasium in Germany looking for a partner school

Dear PSMLA members:

We received this request from Germany:

I`m an English teacher at Gymnasium Walldorf in Germany and I`m writing to you because we`re looking for a new exchange school in the USA. My friend and colleague Valery Dennis (Manchester Valley HS) gave the contact information for the Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association. Maybe you could help us in finding a school in Pennsylvania with a German department which could be interested in an exchange with our school. Here is some more information about us:

We`ve had an exchange with Billerica Memorial High School for the last 20 years but unfortunately it had to be stopped now because it is not sure whether German we`ll be taught at the school in the future. That`s why we are in need of a new school. We are interested in an exchange every other year, as we already also have an exchange with Stanhope, New Jersey. We usually come with a group of 20 students (grade 10) and 2 accompanying teachers in October and then host the following spring.

 

We are located in the south of Germany, near Heidelberg and the French border. Walldorf is a small town and it`s the location of the SAP Headquarters in Germany.

 

We organize our exchanges with the help of Carousel Tours, an organisation located on Cape Cod. They take care of everything like flights, schedules etc.
